Summer (do blondes really have more fun)

So I am well aware that my blog is mostly for me and the occasional best friend who will sneak a peak, but as the Oregon skies try their best to clear and i find myself reaching for a popsicle versus a chocolate bar I come to realize that summer is the time for communicating with my old friends and letting my new ones get to know me a little better.
So this summer I have decided to do everything I have ever wanted to do and never done, and above all else HAVE FUN! So i have traded in my mocha locks for something that will make me see with "Party vision" as Maura and I like to call the sunny disposition of the worlds favorite optimists. THE BLONDES
Things i am Loooving this summer

-The World Market jewlery section

-Local coffee shops

-4 mile long walks to find swings

-My new Frye heels

-watching sci-fi shows in my room

the next 4 years

As I am writing this post I am sitting in the bed of my dorm room at boarding school. I have called this place my home for the past two years for better or worse; but as i sit here pondering the last two years of my life and thinking about the next four, I cant help but freak out a little.
Deciding what college I go to is probably the most important decision I have made in my life so far; sure moving 2000 miles away from home when i was 16 was a big deal, but not one that I have to live with for nearly as long. I worry that I will waste copious amounts of money, that I'll hate the program, that I wont make friends. But I guess it is a leap that we all have to take.
So now I will take a few deep breaths, a hot shower, and then go onto the Christian Louboutin website where I can obsess about something that's a little more frivolous.

Thanks for my childhood

So yesterday I met Alan Menken, for those of you who do not know who this is, he is Disney's shining star composer who created the music for such classics as "Little Mermaid"
"Beauty and the Beast"
"Pocohantas" "Aladdin"
"Newsies" "Hercules" "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" "Enchanted" I could go on...oh he also wrote the brodway scores for "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Christmas Carol the Musical"

After he came to see the show we were performing (which he wrote) he joined us at our cast party afterwards. He then played us a 20 minute medley of some of his most recognizable songs. It was amazing! All of us were transported back to our childhoods, and it was all i could do to keep from crying. Kendra, i wish you could have been there
Thank you Alan

Angel Food Cake

Sometimes I feel like I have been regressed to the age of 6. Times when the biggest drama was about snack food, and the boys who "liked" you would chase you around the playground until your legs burned. Boarding school isn't much different, the biggest drama is about the simplest things, and you still aren't really sure if that little boy really likes you, or just enjoys the chase.

But then there are the perks of being six, the giant hair bows, lace tights, the newest dolls, and being able to eat as many sweets as you want without hearing that voice in your head chanting "Once on the lips forever on the hips"

So lets all dress like we're six, but remember this one simple rule...

If you wear lace tights on the playground they're bound to get torn

The holidays

I have christmas fever!!!! So i recently bought mint Oreos, mint hot chocolate, and LOTS of new music

Although I can never deny the classics of Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra, this holiday season the Nsync Christmas album is monopolizing my ipod and I am loving every minute of it!!

I also recently spent some quality time on weheartit.com finding some of my favorite holiday images. enjoy!

What girl doesn't have a love affair with Starbucks seasonal drinks!

The begining

Well i finally broke down and started a blog. This is for my friends and familly back home, and for me. I'm not going to label this blog, because im not really sure what it's going to turn into. But that's half the fun isn't it?
